Step 1: Patience

Working in customer service is one of the most frustrating jobs I've ever had. I think I might have overestimated my calming nature. Usually I can breathe out negativity and a smile will emerge. However people have found a way to knock all the wind out of me through the phone. Whether it's elderly people who ask me if I'm new or adult children having their parents call for them, I haven't been able to stop rolling my eyes. Now I have to watch my mouth every time people yell at me.

The lesson for today is patience. In the future, I don't want to be the woman on the other end of the phone, screaming at a temp because I never learned to wait.

Because let's be real. Everyone hates the one person who can't sit still.
